Loss and grief were universal experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. This comic shows the challenges of doing remote psychotherapy when the therapist was having many of the same problems as her clients.

Rachelle Meyer

Rachelle is an American illustrator, artist, and writer living in the Netherlands. Her cartoons and comics have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Her multimedia art project, Faces on the Ferry, marked her return to the world of fine arts and captured the attention of media outlets such as Het Parool, Flow Magazine, and The Guardian. She can usually be found either at her home in Amsterdam Noord, at her studio on the outskirts of Zaandam, or riding her bike between these two places. She loves to travel, read books, and draw people when they’re not looking. She’s currently developing a graphic novel called Wolf House Fables. Rachelle lives with one husband, one son, and an oversized tomcat who thinks he’s a dog.

Lisa Plotkin, LCSW, is a psychotherapist who has been in private practice for over 25 years. She specializes in women issues, trauma, grief and relationships. She has two wonderful children and lives in Hershey, Pennsylvania with her husband and Golden Retriever.
